In 2024 we assessed the spatial and operational dynamics of Norwich Market through a comprehensive approach, including observation, in-depth data analysis, geospatial mapping, surveys, and stakeholder workshops.  This included reviewing the management and financial operations.  

We developed a vision, business plan and list of potential interventions for making the market resilient and for it to take on a larger role in the town centre. Our client was Inner Circle Consulting and we worked closely with the owner of the market, Norwich Council, and the traders. The work is feeding into a Strategic Business Case (SOC) for the market and City Hall.

The work fed into a Strategic Business Case (SOC) for the market and adjacent City Hall.  As a result of this work, the Council have moved forwards with ideas for improving the market which were publicly consulted on in summer 2025.  The Council has committed £740,000 funding to taking the chosen improvements forwards.  More here.
